What To Consider Before Purchasing Handwritten Paper Receipts
When you prefer to use handwritten paper receipts, you want them to be simple yet professional-looking. To accomplish your goal, you have to choose the right materials and layout for your company's new receipts.
Paper Options
To start, you need to choose a paper type that will make your receipts more efficient. Luckily, you will be able to find different paper options that also help you make multiple copies of your receipts at one time.
Your first option is to pick a receipt paper that needs a carbon sheet to make copies. This option requires two regular sheets of paper and a carbon sheet that goes in between them. To make the copies, you apply pressure to the top piece of paper and it leaves the same image on second sheet. The problem with this option is that the carbon sheets are very thin and rip easily.
A more appealing option that is much easier to use is carbonless paper. This paper type is coated with chemicals that act the same way as carbon sheets do. When you write on the top sheet, the chemicals from the backside of the top piece attaches to the bottom one to create the words. The most noticeable advantage is that your employees do not have to remember to use a carbon sheet before they write a receipt.
Additionally, you have the option of making up to three copies of the same receipt at one time. Carbonless paper generally comes in two or three sheet forms.
This means if you need three copies each time a receipt is written, it is best to pick a 3-part carbonless paper for your employees to use. However, the standard 2-part carbonless paper is a good option for basic receipts.
Receipt Layout
Once you have chosen a paper, your next objective is to design the layout. The receipt generally needs information such as your company's name, address and phone number.
The area you need to concentrate on is where your employees need to write. The receipt needs enough room for people to write information such as services rendered, totals and method of payment. If you choose a layout that is too small, the writing will be very hard for you and your customers to read.
The last part is to consider the color scheme for the paper and printed images. It is a good idea to use colors that are already used in your logo, though pick simple black and white if you prefer.
Once you have the layout complete, the printing company can print and then ship your receipts.
